Treehouses and my first custom sizing order!!
So my fiance and I have this dream plan to be off-the-grid, or at least have our property, in the next 2 years. Consequently, I've been following sustainable living topics on several sites for some time now. Today I came across a Pinterest board called "Container homes" - it only had around 50 pins at my time of viewing, but what a great find!
I was particularly intrigued, and after a few clicks found this incredible list of the most beautiful treehouses! It has 4 pages of these works of art, so as a forewarning, don't look at the list unless you have some time to spare because you will likely get sucked in (if you love nature and treehouses as much as I do, that is).
This company makes some of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen. More pics of this company's work here.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this!! Not quite a treehouse, but TOTALLY awesome anyways! I'm 25 and I want this in my home! See more pics of this awesome kid's room here.
Yeah, you're seeing it right. This tree fell victim to disease and instead of chopping it down entirely, they did this! Read more about this amazing structure here.
A treehouse will definitely be part of the big picture. I'm just curious about one thing - what happens when the trees grow? Do they grow at a slow enough rate that it doesn't affect the structure, or is there some other preparation or treatment needed? Obviously with the last photo I posted, the tree is not quite in good health so growth isn't an issue, but won't the wood decay and deteriorate over the years? I might just be overthinking things, considering there are some kids' treehouses that have been standing strong for many decades, but that's just my nature.

Ohh! Today I completed my first custom sizing order for a vaporizer sleeve on Etsy! I'm really excited about it and I think my customer is too! =)
Here is the vaporizer she has:
And here is the sleeve I made for it! (Note: Yes that's a thermometer, and yes it is clean!!! It just happened to be the same dimensions as her vape, and a good reference. I honestly couldn't find anything else similar in my house.)
Check out my Etsy shop to see my full line of vaporizer sleeves and accessories.
I ran into a few speed bumps when trying to figure out how to address the button issue. The button on this vape is much larger than the ones I've been doing, so I had to make a larger window and thus had to come up with a completely different approach. Finally, after a lot of frustrated trial-and-error and brainstorming, I was just taking a break, chatting with my man, and it dawned on me! A lightbulb lit up in my brain and I heard DING DING DING! Ok, so that my not have actually happened for real... But it was just like that!
Anyways, I'm really happy with how it turned out. I definitely learned a useful lesson: the method of removing yourself from a challenge to come up with fresh ideas is a winner.
